Bush quickly vetoed the Medicare bill that rolled back cuts in payments to doctors and other good things for Americans. But as quickly as he once more tried to slam seniors, Congress stepped up to override the veto.

Medicare Bill HR6331 is an important bill for seniors. Previous posts have described the bill and voting.
The House passed the bill by 355 to 59. The Senate left for their July 4th recess without passing it after the Republicans held fast and blocked a vote. Both Minnesota senators voted for the bill.
