Review of Our Progress and Status:
Current Chair Don Bye will review our progress as a Caucus using highlights from our annual report to the DFL. 2010 was another busy year what with the Caucus preparing a governor candidate guide, participating in the State Convention, hosting a summer picnic, jointly supporting informational forums, volunteering at the State Fair, and running a post-election gala. Status will include the Secretary’s and Treasurer’s report..
Review of Increases to DUES and Friends of the Caucus:
The Board passed two motions for increases in DUES and the Friends of the Caucus donation if approved by the Annual Membership Meeting:
“Motion to recommend to the Annual Membership Meeting an increase in membership dues to ten dollars ($10)”
“Motion to recommend to the Annual Membership Meeting an increase in the “Friends of the Caucus” donation to twenty dollars ($20).”
All Offices of the Board – Chair, Associate Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and Membership Director – are up for election. Current officers are running for re-election, but others are encouraged to run. Most current Board Directors are also running for re-election, but more Board Directors, particularly from Congressional Districts 1, 7, and 8 but generally from all, are highly desired. Please volunteer your voice!

Speech by Jim Oberstar:
Congressman Oberstar will speak on transportation issues important to seniors, particularly to those seniors in out-state areas. Transportation services are absolutely life sustaining for many seniors who otherwise could not see their doctors, shop for groceries, or obtain the support they need. Seniors also want to participate but may be limited in doing so by failures in transportation services from cuts now proposed at federal and state levels.
Discuss What We Do in 2011:
2011 will be the launchpad for winning the election in 2012 and restoring American progress. We need your ideas, your participation, your faith in America.
Planning to see your there,
Jim Reed, DFL Senior Caucus Board Secretary
