Georgiana Ruzich, Senior Caucus Director, long-time DFL and CD 3 activist, received the inaugural Jackie Stevenson Award at a May 19 dinner honoring Jackie Stevenson who died on April 22, 2912. (Jackie Stevenson story)
This award is given to an individual who is the consummate volunteer; is active in many activities; comes up with ideas; and involves and engages others. Someone who is always there and always willing.
From article on dfl.org:
“Georgiana Ruzich received the Jackie Stevenson Award because she is the consummate volunteer. Involved with the DFL for many years, including serving as chair of the Congressional District 3 DFL, working for the DFL Feminist Caucus and being involved with the DFL Senior Caucus, Ruzich epitomizes the ideals that Stevenson lived by.”
“It’s a great source of pride for me to have known and worked with Jackie and to share her vision of a progressive DFL Party,” Ruzich said. “The work has not been easy, but Jackie was there as a motivator every step of the way. The inspiration Jackie gave me and so many others was to fight the good fight and never give up goes a long way. I was just lucky enough to walk in her shadow for a while; thank you so much for this honor.”
